PotentialPosted by Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 26 January 2012 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. I love the 'Life Lessons' flowers give us. You might recall my series with Daffodils and other flowers last spring. My goal in the near future is to write a book on Life Lessons from Flowers. :) However, in looking at these emerging buds, I'm reminded how much growth is still inside of us. Sometimes we feel stagnant, but there's so much inside of us to spring forth. Flowers show off their greatest beauty and their wonderful personalities once they bloom. We can stay inside our cocoons, neatly tucked away, and in control, or take a risk, come forth, and be all we were intended to be. When we decide to graduate, we leave the 'people pleasing' behind and show off our real colors! Welcome and thanks for visiting! I appreciate the time you take to leave a comment. I appreciate every one, and reply when I can. B. Thomas from Arlington, Texas, United StatesI know your photos would be wonderful in a book, and now I see that it will also be well written. Learn on, and teach us as you go. 26 Jan 2012 5:40am @B. Thomas: Thanks, Barbara. We can all learn from each other! Anita from West Nottingham, Pennsylvania, United StatesThese are simply gorgeous! Luminous! Happy and bright. They call me forth to be who I really am. Why is that so difficult? What am I afraid of? Being laughed at. Not being liked. Making a fool of myself. So many scary voices in my head. Thanks for the encouragement to take the risk of being myself! 26 Jan 2012 11:20am @Anita: Thank you, creative one! Having met you in person, I know the world needs your gifts. Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, CanadaA stunningly beautiful collage Barbara! Thank you! 26 Jan 2012 3:07pm @Tracy: Thanks, Tracy! It is about the ears and heart isn't it? As Nancy Rotenberg used to say - keep leading with your heart! Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United StatesSuperbly spoken, Barbara! And if we truly want to grow, we should not let our age hinder us from these goals...I am speaking to myself as much as anything ;-) Beautifully spoken and conveyed here, barbara..your work is always beyond compare! 26 Jan 2012 3:49pm @Denny Jump Photo: Thanks, Denny and that SO true! Not so! :) Judy aka L@dybug from Brooksville, FL, United StatesA beautiful presentation, Barbara ... and I'm all for leaving the "people pleasing" behind. 26 Jan 2012 4:01pm @Judy aka L@dybug: Thank you Judy - and you have the permission of all of us to break out! Just taking that first step is the most difficult! Thinking of an e-book first. :) Hanry from Castricum, NetherlandsNice triptych with beautiful colors. Stunning image 26 Jan 2012 10:06pm Tomas Turecek from Czech RepublicWonderful photos, Barbara, and ...oh.. a BOOK! I want a copy! :) I really like your thoughts behind photos, finding a story there, linking it to our lives. I see a sad story here: 1) a happy family portrait with parents very close to each other, cherishing their young one, 2) as they grow and get older they are still together but not so close any more, 3) and their ways separate. Very sad and very often seen in today's world :( 27 Jan 2012 7:20am @Tomas Turecek: Thanks, Tomas! Thinking of an 'e-book' which would be easy for people to get! And, you picked up on something very true - I'm seeing it in the middle image. The mature one is in the background - out of focus, showing the distance. Good observation! Riccardo from Rome, ItalyWhat a superb compo!! And as usual I love your style!! Great Barbara! 27 Jan 2012 10:29am Julie L.
