Scott F. Schilling from San Martin, United StatesThis makes me feel warm but at the same time I know it is autumn! Very nice work! 5 Nov 2009 6:34am Dulcie from Danville, CA, United StatesWonderful combination of colors, shapes, and patterns. Beautifully combined and "framed." 5 Nov 2009 6:36am Tomas Turecek from Czech RepublicNow THIS is art! It's simply wonderful - colours, composition, combination of subjects, texture, frame. Everything work just perfectly for me. One very small nit (It wouldn't be me ;)) - maybe the overlay texture of ferns could be a little bit more transparent. Especially over the red leaf the structure of fern in texture is visible and it distract me a bit. This is only a small nit which can't hide the artistic quality of this masterpiece! Hat off! 5 Nov 2009 7:10am @Tomas Turecek: Thanks, Tomas. Some of the structure of the fern came from Topaz Clean, which 'cleaned up' the fern detail, but gave it more of an artsy look as well. I was ok with it in this case and was pleased with the overlay so I left it at 90%. It's more intense than what I usually do, but then, I usually do flowers, not ferns, so I stepped 'out of the box' here. :-) Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainBeautifully done, I like very much the detail and the colors, good composition. 5 Nov 2009 7:13am Anina from Auckland, New ZealandWOW!!! Both thumbs up from me! This is wonderful! Great tones and processing. Well done 5 Nov 2009 9:08am Ed Vatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United StatesExcellent composition and beautiful execution. At first, I wasn't 100% sold on the overlay as presented but it grew on me. Very nicely done. 5 Nov 2009 11:50am @Ed Vatza: Thanks, Ed. I'm often surprised when I hit the blending mode and see what the result is. I changed the colors of the texture before blending and was happy with the greens/golds and reds I got. I even left it at 90% opacity which I often don't do. Ralph Jones from Detroit, United StatesVery nice processing, it looks like an HDR image. 5 Nov 2009 2:17pm Thea from Leeuwarden, NetherlandsThis is really a wonderful picture..I love the processing and the intens colors! 5 Nov 2009 3:09pm Nance E from Cary, United StatesIt looks like a painting. It would be neat to see it in its original form also as a contrast. Beautiful. 5 Nov 2009 3:10pm @Nance E: Thanks, Nance. It was really a macro of a fern leaf against an out of focus bg. I used Topaz Clean to clean up the leaf, and then used a quilt fabric image (changing the colors in 'hue' to blend with my golds/reds) and did the overlay at 90% opacity. Marilyn Cornwell from Toronto, CanadaA beautiful still life composition and gorgeous treatment! Fabulous!! 5 Nov 2009 3:20pm Bishop from Houston, United StatesA really nice work here - the slightly transparent red leaf works as it is, and I like your explanation of how you got the effect! :) 5 Nov 2009 4:38pm zOOm from Paris, FranceAmazing work on textures, it really looks like real golden leaves ! 5 Nov 2009 7:06pm Bill from Pacific Northwest, United StatesWonderfully created and executed. The light versus dark and sharp versus soft focus give the image such great depth. 5 Nov 2009 9:59pm marc battault from clermont ferrand, Francei like it ,a beautiful masterpiece! 5 Nov 2009 10:11pm Jen from Bartlett, United StatesFerns or flowers, you have an eye for beauty. Keep it up, we learn so much. 5 Nov 2009 10:56pm Susan from Fort Lauderdale, FL, United StatesBeautiful job......seems you must have more patience than I do most of the time....and it certainly pays off for ya!!! 5 Nov 2009 11:01pm @Susan: Thanks, Susan - this was really one of the easiest as I didn't do any painting on the layer mask. :-) Sarito from Basingstoke, United KingdomLooks like a painting.. wonderful work. Like the presentation. 6 Nov 2009 9:17am mascha from kootstertille, NetherlandsBeautiful colours and a great composition, it looks like a painting!! 8 Nov 2009 7:03pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesLovely work, Barbara ... beautifully realized autumnal tableau ... ron 9 Nov 2009 1:52pm Barbara Kile from Ft.
