Wash of Lavender

Posted by
Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 10 August 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I got my Lensbaby 3G out this past week and had some fun with some little daisies. I used the Macro Kit and stacked the 4 mm and the 10 mm lenses and captured this shot with the flower being 2-3 inches away. Abstract flower photography, one of my favorite things, is fun with this little lens and gives a wash of color, soft edges, and a 'painterly' soft look.

Yes, this came out so well! I love how it has some focus, but that the majority of it feels almost like a watercolor. And the colors are pleasingly vivid as well.

Just visited your web site - beauuuuuutiful pics! I specially liked your technique of including a reflection in the architectural photographs - I'll try it myself sometime.
