Purple and Gold

Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 23 November 2009 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

These wild irises have had texture before, but this is a more detailed and 'grungy' texture. Orton technique applied at reduced opacity. Texture by Boccacino.

I remember previous post with these Irises. There are beautiful. I'm thinking what this image reminds me or better to say if it is similar to something I know...hmm... now I know! It's like painted on a tin plate which got rust lately :D Very artistic. I like it. Grunge is IN nowadays ;)

Japanalia from Yokohama, Japan

In Japan iris is a lady-like flower, an artistic flower. My husband and I are very much in love with what is called Japanese iris and June is the month when they grow most beautifully. Your interpretation of this wild iris reminds me of the <floating world> in Japanese ukiyo-e.

This is fantastic color and I think it is appealing to me because the texture contains similar color to the flower - very flowing and smooth with the mix of colors! Great work!
