Solarized Daisies

Posted by
Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 18 February 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

These daisies have had the solarization filter applied to them in Nik ColorEfex Pro. It's an interesting filter that really makes a flower glow. It's different - and fun.

Tomas Turecek from Czech Republic

This is interesting effect, Barbara. It looks like the flowers were in a strong light coming from all directions and it really gives a glow to them. A bit unnatural to me though.

@Tomas Turecek: A girl's just gotta play! :-) Thanks, Tomas!

Ed Vatza from Lehigh Valley, PA, United States

I think BOTH "Two Daisies" images are superb but artistically I find myself preferring this one over the white. You are right. Removing color from the composition, leave us to ponder the essence of the image and, like I said, these are wonderful but this one really speaks to me.

22 Feb 2010 11:29am

@Ed Vatza: Thanks, Ed. That is confirmation for my vision - that other people are impacted in some way.
