Nubble Light House

Posted by
Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 14 June 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is a oft-photographed lighthouse in Maine. It's a challenge to capture it in some unique way. I chose a wide angle view that included more of the landscape and cloudscape, then converted to b-w with some selective color.

Very nice dark atmosphere. I wouldn't mind discolouring also the wooden house, leaving colour only in the top of the lighthouse.

Not sure that you really needed any selective colouring, it's a pretty strong image as it is Barbara.

Very nice Barbara, I like this alot. I wonder how it would look with just the red in the light and leave the small shed in black and white?

Sussi from Landskrona, Sweden

Wonderful place, so cozy, like how you chose the location of the lighthouse and its houses, with stone in the foreground. The little red house is really powerful for this picture, very well composed and good choice of B & W in the rest of the picture!
