Church Art

Posted by
Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 5 May 2011 in Architecture and Portfolio.

iPhone: This quaint little church is on the west side of Fort Worth. Stitched together 3 vertical HDR images, with edits in Photo Forge, Iris, Filter Storm and Dynamic Light. The birds are a texture layer that was blended into the image via Filter Storm.

WELCOME and thanks for visiting!

That's really nice, Barbara. It's absolutely amazing what can be done with an iPhone--it's creating an entirely new art form.

I already commented this photo on Flickr but I must do it again: beautiful! Excellent work, great details and light. Gees, you must have nerves from steel when doing all the processing on mobile phone :) You must love it :)

This is a gorgeous image, so clean and crisp and yet soft and lovely. It seems to mirror the simple and pure values of an earlier time. This and many of your earlier images make me want to follow you into iphonography. Do you actually do all the processing on your phone, or can you download to your computer and use the apps there?

5 May 2011 10:16pm

@JOEMULLIGAN: Thanks, Joe. Yes, all the processing is done on the phone. See links in a comment on my previous post. There are those who teach iphoneography as 'online' classes. I'll be happy to give you a few apps to get you started: Perfect Photo, Pic Grunger, Photo Studio and the Artista Series. You need a basic editor for cropping, straightening, sharpening, etc and then some artsy stuff. There aren't many apps that you can use on the puter. Vintage Scene is the only one I know if at the moment. If you have an iPad, that's different. The really nice thing about iphoneography is that your camera is ALWAYS with you, so you learn to 'see' better as you're always looking for some images to make. You can create art that would take you much longer and with a ton more money in PS. If you're on FB, there are 2 iphoneography groups I'm a member of - one for those 'getting started' and one for the heavy hitters. You learn a lot being part of those groups, but they are limited and by invitation only. Let me know if you're interested in the 'getting started' group and I'll let the admin know. Teri Lou Dantzler is the admin. Check out the many groups on Flickr too for what people are doing. Let me know if I can help!

Extraordinary result and rendering. Fairy in colors and patterns. On the edge of a cartoon or painting. the place/setting (lovely and fairy too) which adds a lot to the whole image. I would say "adorable".
