Tulips and Texture

Posted by
Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 9 May 2011 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

Overlay of 2 textures, one being a color wash. I loved the 2 leaves that are curling in opposite directions. :)
Happy Spring!

Beautiful. Do you show your work?

@Ralph Jones: Thanks, Ralph. I've been encouraged to do so, and there are avenues for displaying my work - just need to put it in motion! :)

Gorgeous colour tones, especially in leaves. I see why you like those curled leaves in opposite direction. It adds nice tension to otherwise still scenery. Also the contrast between beautiful delicate flowers and the wall with harsh structure is very nice.

FABULOUS! Beautiful capture and processing of these lovely tulips. They are so graceful. (What filters did you use for the flowers?) Excellent, excellent work.

12 May 2011 3:21pm

@Anita: Thanks, Anita. I might have used a bit of Nik Photo Stylizer on the flowers before texturizing, but it's not showing up in the PSD file. Likely I just did some hue adjustments - and I know I did one after the texture application.

karla from Omaha, United States

What a delight!!! Color and arrangement of the tulips, as well as the texture, is beautiful.

Gorgeous color. You really should put out a line of greeting cards-I would buy them! I see that Don Smith (I am doing my second workshop with him in October) has visited your portfolio. He recently got into iphone photography, and I wondered if he had seen your work.
