Coastline Painting

Posted by
Barbara Kile (Ft. Worth, United States) on 26 September 2011 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

Playing around with Alien Skin SnapArt3. This image seemed a little cluttered for my tastes, so decided this was to be a painting.

It has the look of an oil painting. I like the saturated color.

nicely done. i figure that i want to get a good handle on Color Efex 4 before taking a look at SnapArt 3.

@john4jack: Thanks, Jack. I'm done with Nik for now. Until they change their 3rd party authentication company - which has caused malfunction issues with Macs for months now - I am NOT buying any more of their stuff. Their software is expensive, you pay for upgrades - unlike Topaz which is much more reasonable and gives free upgrades. There is NO excuse for Nik not getting their act together by now. You can't use the software when it won't keep the authentication and product key embedded. They blame Apple, but ALL my other software: Topaz, Alien Skin, Totally Rad....... all work just fine.

DarkElf from Perth, Australia

interesting artistic effect!

I really haven't had any problems running any of Nik's plug-ins on my MacBook Pro. Sorry to hear that that has not been your experience.

@john4jack: Yeah, I must be one of the 'lucky' ones! Issue has gone on too long!

janina from Melbourne, Australia

Yes, this is very effective as a painting, and I particularly like the water and rocks combo, stars. :O)

This makes a great oil painting. Coloration is outstanding.
I have to agree with john4jack that I haven't had any problems with NIK plug-ins on my iMac. I wish I could help you get yours to play nice but I wouldn't know where to start.
